THE FLORIDA COURT-SPONSORED FORECLOSURE MEDIATION PROGRAM (RMFMP)
The Court-Sponsored Mediation program began in December 2009 with a limited number of circuits. In 2010, the Florida Supreme Court mandated that mediation be offered to homeowners after foreclosure was filed and prior to a final judgment. The RMFM program is a post-file program. This means the program becomes a requirement once it reaches the court system.
The statewide Supreme Court order was in effect until December 2011 when it was cancelled. However, your local circuit court may still have a mediation requirement.
The Collins Center is currently program manager for Florida’s First Judicial Circuit (Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton Counties). If you own a homestead property in the First Judicial Circuit that is in foreclosure, and have not received a call from the Collins Center regarding the RMFM program, please call toll free 877/352-2004 x2 for information regarding your case.
Prior to the Supreme Court’s cancellation of the RMFM mandate, the Collins Center was also program manager for the Tenth, Twelfth, Fourteenth and Nineteenth Circuits. If you own a homestead property in any of these circuits, foreclosure was filed between March 2009 and December 2011, and you were not provided the opportunity to participate in the RMFM program, please call toll free 877/352-2004 x2 regarding your case
